Left of Greg Episode 44 - Hunting the Caliphate with Wes Bryant
A military veteran who completed multiple tours in the Middle East, Dana Pittard has served as vice president of defense programs with Indianapolis, Indiana’s Allison Transmission since 2015. Dana Pittard recently described his overseas service in the 2019 book Hunting the Caliphate.
Mr. Pittard wrote Hunting the Caliphate with fellow special operations JTAC (joint terminal attack controller) Wes J. Bryant. The book offers readers a look at the war against ISIS from a unique, frontline perspective.
Wes Bryant shared this experience in audio form on the 44th episode of Left of Greg, a podcast that analyzes human behavior patterns to promote critical thinking. The podcast is a product of the Arcadia Cognerati/HBPRA Educational Research Center, which strives to advance critical thinking to “make order out of chaos.”
Left of Greg originally released “Hunting the Caliphate with Wes Bryant” on December 12, 2019. In terms of subject matter, this podcast episode concentrated on the book Hunting the Caliphate, as well as Mr. Bryant’s transition from military service to civilian life.

The 2019 AUSA Annual Meeting and Exhibition
A former officer and ground commander with the United States Army, Dana Pittard has served as vice president of defense programs with Indianapolis’s Allison Transmission since 2015. He has also authored a book titled, Hunting the Caliphate which comes out in late August 2019. To augment his professional activities, Dana Pittard regularly attends the Annual Meeting and Exhibition of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA).
The AUSA is committed to furthering the US Army and its affiliates through a range of education and outreach initiatives that support a strong national defense. In lieu of this, the organization hosts an annual meeting to gather experts and professionals in the industry. The 2019 AUSA Annual Meeting and Exhibition will take place from October 14-16 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. AUSA officials expect the event to attract more than 30,000 defense industry professionals and more than 700 exhibits from more than 80 countries.
The event will feature a wide variety of programs that include military and military family forums, Institute of Land Warefare forums, Department of Homeland Security breakout sessions, a small business seminar, a Department of the Army civilian professional development seminar, and a pre-retirement/survivor benefit plan briefing. The 2019 AUSA Annual Meeting and Exhibition will also provide ample international networking opportunities.

AUSA Urges Congress to Enhance Reserve Operational Readiness
A leader in the defense industry with a history as a general officer in the United States Army, Dana Pittard has served as vice president of defense programs with Allison Transmission since 2015. Outside of the professional arena, Dana Pittard is a member of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) and a regular attendee of the annual AUSA Convention.
Established in 1950, AUSA is a nonprofit association dedicated to serving Army soldiers, Army-affiliated civilians, Army families, Army industry partners, and other supporters of a strong national defense. On April 29, 2019, the organization endorsed a letter to the U.S. House and Senate armed services committees that endorsed the TRICARE Reserve Select expansion, modernization, and recapitalization of military reserve component equipment platforms. The letter also asked for consistent National Guard and Reserve equipment account funding and a general intensification of full-time military support. In addition to bearing the signature of AUSA president and CEO general Carter F. Ham, the letter was signed by multiple military organizations including the Reserve Officers Association and the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States.

The Young Professionals of AUSA
The vice president of defense programs at Allison Transmission, Dana Pittard oversees business operations in more than 100 countries. After serving as a major general in the United States Army, Dana Pittard maintains active membership in the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) and regularly attends AUSA events each year.
AUSA, a professional development and educational association dedicated to supporting the men and women who serve in the United States Army, maintains several programs and initiatives, including Young Professionals (YP), a nationwide effort to increase interest in AUSA among emerging leaders.
By joining YP, young leaders are rewarded with numerous networking opportunities. Members can participate in mentorship programs or meet and speak with business leaders, civic leaders, and senior military leaders.
Beyond mentorship and networking, YP grants young members opportunities to participate in professional development forums and events. Local AUSA chapters are located throughout the United States and in Japan, Germany, the Middle East, and South Korea. Members can also seek leadership positions in the organization.
