AUSA Urges Congress to Enhance Reserve Operational Readiness

A leader in the defense industry with a history as a general officer in the United States Army, Dana Pittard has served as vice president of defense programs with Allison Transmission since 2015. Outside of the professional arena, Dana Pittard is a member of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) and a regular attendee of the annual AUSA Convention.

Established in 1950, AUSA is a nonprofit association dedicated to serving Army soldiers, Army-affiliated civilians, Army families, Army industry partners, and other supporters of a strong national defense. On April 29, 2019, the organization endorsed a letter to the U.S. House and Senate armed services committees that endorsed the TRICARE Reserve Select expansion, modernization, and recapitalization of military reserve component equipment platforms. The letter also asked for consistent National Guard and Reserve equipment account funding and a general intensification of full-time military support. In addition to bearing the signature of AUSA president and CEO general Carter F. Ham, the letter was signed by multiple military organizations including the Reserve Officers Association and the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States.
